Music magazine planning- DPS flat plans

This is my flat plans of my DPS and i have made two different designs and have to choose whcih layout is best suited to my magazine and its genre.




                                                                                             
The headline is situated along the top of the first page making it the first thing you see attracting your eye flow and then the page follows the typical conventions of a dps with 3 columns going down the first page.

the second page has the main image at the top taking up roughly 50% of the page making it the main feature and below it to the left is another 3 columns and to the right of these columns are first a pull quote related to the artist followed below by two extra images to make the page more attractive and eye catching


The second flat plan I made was similar to the first on the first page I didn't change much because i loved the layout of the first page so I centred the masthead making it more aligned with the columns.
On the second page I placed three extra images down the left side followed by 3 columns at their right, Below these are the main image again taking up 50% of the page  and for a change i decided to put the pull quote related to the artist over lapping the main image to give it a premium high quality look .
